The Lightsheer Desire uses a diode laser to target the hair root. Dark-colored hairs are more susceptible to the light from the laser. Areas that can be treated include the upper lip, axilla, (underarms), bikini line, chin, neck, and sideburns.
The treatment feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin. Please shave the area one day before your treatment. The area is chilled prior to treatment. Additionally, one can apply a topical anesthetic (i.e., Emla) one hour before coming into the office. Downtime will be 3-5 days with good wound care and strict sun avoidance which should be observed in the area prior to and for two weeks after.
