Ellacor PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS
Things you will need to be used immediately after post-procedure:
- Biafine
- Vanicream Ointment
- White Vinegar
- Gallon of Distilled Water
PRE-OP INSTRUCTIONS:
Patients experience an increased sense of heat during the treatment. We will prescribe topical anesthesia for you to apply to clean skin 1 hour prior to your procedure. For those with a history of rosacea, an oral antibiotic will also be prescribed to begin the day of the procedure. You will take an antibiotic the day of your procedure to continue for a week. Additionally, if you have a history of cold sores – you will also take an antiviral ( i.e Acyclovir, Valtrex).
How to Care for Your Skin after Treatment
Immediately after treatment: First 24 hours, you will apply the Avene spray mist and Microglide gel 2x a day to the area on the day of your treatment. You will also soak your face with a mix of ½ cup cool water and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar 3 times for 5 minutes each. The use of icepacks helps alleviate the heat sensation. You may also cleanse your face with a mild cleanser. **Must followup with doctor in 3 days for gentlewaves and soaking**
Skin Care products: All of your skin care products should be non-irritating and non-clogging for the first week after your treatment.
Scrubs, Toners, Glycolic Acid and Retin A: Do not use products that will cause irritation. Do not use abrasive scrubs, toners, or products that contain glycolic acids or Retina. Read the product labels.
Normal Skin Care Regimen: Once the sloughing is complete, you may resume your routine skin care and make-up products, as long as they are tolerable to you.
Sunscreen: It is very important that you use sunscreen to prevent sun damage to the skin. Sunscreen should offer UVA and UVB protection and be SPF 30 or more. Once sloughing is complete, use sunscreen daily for at least 3 months after your last treatment. Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside, and again, immediately before. Reapply every 2 hours. If direct sun exposure is necessary, wear a hat and clothing that will cover the treated area. Your practice of diligent sunscreen use may lower the risk of laser-induced hyper pigmentation (darker color).
Moisturizer: The moisturizer you use should be non-irritating and non-clogging to prevent breakouts. Reapply whenever your skin feels dry.
Additional Information
